Five years ago, Innovative Pump Solutions started as little more than an idea, a single rented pallet spot in a fulfillment center, and a whole lot of determination.

After spending 20+ years working long hours in distribution and seeing firsthand the challenges and needs of customers, I saw an opportunity.  It wasn’t just to go into business for myself, but to build a company that puts people first. With nothing more than a $15-a-month pallet space, a truck, and a relentless work ethic, I began selling, servicing, and delivering dives and wastewater pumps during the day and handling paperwork at night and on weekends.

What began as a one-man operation has now grown into a thriving team (shown below), serving customers across multiple industries.

Our Team

Jerry Shupert – Outside Sales

Jerry has been with Innovative Pump Solutions for over 3 ½ years, bringing a unique background that includes time with the sheriff’s department, as well as experience in both retail and factory settings. A proud father of two daughters and grandfather to one granddaughter. At IPS, he thrives on connecting with people, building strong relationships, and collaborating with engineers on system sizing and solutions. While he feels especially at home on the wastewater side of the business, Jerry enjoys the challenge and variety that comes with working across all aspects of the industry. Jerry travels in the eastern part of Missouri and Arkansas.

Tyler Fidler – Outside Sales/Service

Tyler has been with Innovative Pump Solutions for 2 years, bringing over 15 years of hands-on experience from his time with the City of Strafford. While there, he specialized in water distribution and wastewater management, working extensively with lift stations, grinder pumps, and control panels. During his career, Tyler also earned his DS-II water distribution license, underscoring his technical expertise and commitment to the field. At IPS, he applies that deep knowledge to help customers find reliable, effective solutions for their clean water and wastewater needs.

Johnny Patterson – Outside Sales

Johnny grew up in the water well and pump industry, starting on a drill rig and pump truck at just 8 years old. By 15, he was already running drill and pump crews, and at 22 he took over his family’s business. Johnny later spent 7 years in outside sales with PP before joining Innovative Pump Solutions, where he has been part of the team for 2 years. Today, he manages his own warehouse in the St. Louis, and eastern Missouri areas, helping IPS customers get faster access to the products they need. With a lifetime of industry experience and a true hands-on background, Johnny brings unmatched knowledge and perspective to serving IPS customers.

Cody Smith – Inside Sales

Cody, a local product, was born and raised in Buffalo, Missouri, and is a proud graduate of Missouri S&T, where he earned his degree in Business Management Systems in May 2024. Just two days after graduation, Cody jumped straight into the pump industry, joining Innovative Pump Solutions. With 15+ months of experience already under his belt, he’s quickly building his expertise and contributing fresh energy to the IPS team. Outside of work, Cody enjoys hitting the golf course—though he admits he’s more of a double-bogey golfer than a pro.

Darren Dubbelde – Business Development/Automation Specialist

Currently residing near the Black Hills of South Dakota, Darren brings over 15 years of territory experience as a manufacturer’s representative, with a proven track record of supporting customers and building strong relationships. Before joining Innovative Pump Solutions in November 2024, he spent 6 ½ years with Phase Technologies in multiple roles, gaining extensive knowledge of automation and control solutions. At IPS, Darren is excited to grow the automation and controls side of the business while also expanding his expertise in the wastewater market. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his kids and staying involved in his local community by coaching youth sports.

Dolten Hardey – Delivery

Dolten is the lead delivery driver for Innovative Pump Solutions, making sure customers get their products quickly and reliably. Before joining IPS, he gained valuable industry experience working with Water Works, which gave him a strong understanding of the products and needs of the water and wastewater market. Known for his reliability and customer-first attitude, Dolten plays a key role in keeping IPS deliveries running smoothly and on time.
